Bike Ride to Drachenberg: Berlin’s Hidden Sunset Spot
July 20, 2025 | by Pedals & Paths

Berlin has no shortage of scenic places, but few compare to the quiet beauty of Drachenberg at sunset. On this bike tour, we take you from the neighborhood of Schmargendorf to the top of one of Berlin’s most underrated viewpoints—Drachenberg.
🚲 The Ride
Starting in the leafy streets of Schmargendorf, the ride takes you through forested paths and gently sloping trails. This route is perfect for cyclists who want a blend of nature and a bit of challenge on the final stretch.
🌄 Drachenberg at Sunset
Once at the top, Drachenberg offers a stunning panoramic view over the Grunewald forest and the Berlin skyline. The hill, created from rubble after World War II, now serves as a peaceful retreat with grassy slopes and wide-open skies. Many locals come here to relax, picnic, and watch the sun dip below the horizon.
🚁 Our First Drone Footage
This video marks a special moment for our channel—it’s our first time using drone footage! We experimented with aerial shots of the trail, the hilltop, and the iconic Teufelsberg radar domes in the distance. It adds a new dimension to the tour, and we hope it brings you closer to the experience of being there.
